Just a college student with zero idea of how to be an adult

“Why does Tumblr romanticize Hades so much?”
Idk Clarice, maybe we’re just tired, and life is uncertain, and we like the idea of a stable husband with a steady job and a big dog and his own place away from all the loud, shapeshifting-kink party gods.

i had the best human interaction of all time last night. i was sitting at a bar eating an appetizer and this guy comes up to order a drink and stares at my food and comments how good it looks. when i am drunk i use the word bitch like it is a comma, i plug it into any space in a sentence possible. so naturally the first thing i say to this stranger is, “go ahead and take one, bitch.”
he looks SO shocked and taken aback and goes “what did you just say? how do you know my name?” so i sit there for a moment trying to figure out what the fuck he is talking about, and then go, “…. bitch?” and he looks so relieved and tells me his name is mitch.
i cannot stop thinking about this. oh my god. imagine going into a bar and someone you know for a fact youve never met approaches you and says “go ahead and take one, mitch.” im cracking the fuck up. he looked like he thought this was the fucking truman show
when millennials were first heading into high school and college there was a huge trend in news stories about how stressed out our kids are, how their backs are getting messed up from carrying so many books, how they’re sleeping less and doing more school work, and how we should do more to help our kids have the childhoods we had because our kids are falling apart from stress and being forced to be more productive than kids should be. but then once millennials started hitting the workforce all the news was about how millennials are lazy and narcissistic and entitled lmao you were real concerned about us until you found out a 23 year old is more qualified to do your job than you
Omg I forgot about this
reminds me of another post along the lines of “people complain about millenials being used to participation trophies, but who was buying those trophies and giving them to us?”
tony stark inspired a fuckload of kids i know, including myself, to pursue a career in engineering, he made math and software construction and physics look fucking cool
the iron man trilogy in general made the notion of a woman being more competent of a ceo than a Genius Hot Rich White Man look so natural that most of you missed it.
it broke stereotypes left and right, put an accurate portrayal of mental ilness in the focus of the final movie, made an accurate portrayal of the middle eastern situation, had a woman save the hero by physically fighting instead of some cliche cop-out and at the same time, they did it so brilliantly that none of it seemed like pandering and too on the nose so the movies were and still are entertaining as fuck to watch.
iron man movies are better & more impactful than any other marvel movie and its honestly ridiculous that some people on tungler are still reaching for made up reasons to hate on that franchise
i applied to, and got into MIT bc of Tony Stark
me, studying engineering: *blows a kiss to the sky* For Tony Stark
me, frantically making a spaceship from scratch: for tony stark
Hot take: people who argue that saying “mood,” “same,” “F,” “oh worm?” etc. add nothing to a conversation don’t realize that they function the same way as aizuchi, i.e. signalling that you’re still paying attention to what the speaker is saying, which is harder to do when you can’t see the other person. In this essay, I will
Research has shown that pleasure affects nutrient absorption. In a 1970s study of Swedish and Thai women, it was found that when the Thai women were eating their own (preferred) cuisine, they absorbed about 50% more iron from the meal than they did from eating the unfamiliar Swedish food. And the same was true in the reverse for the Swedish women. When both groups were split internally and one group given a paste made from the exact same meal and the other was given the meal itself, those eating the paste absorbed 70% less iron than those eating the food in its normal state.
Pleasure affects our metabolic pathways; it’s a facet of the complex gut-brain connection. If you’re eating foods you don’t like because you think it’s healthy, it’s not actually doing your body much good (it’s also unsustainable, we’re pleasure-seeking creatures). Eat food you enjoy, it’s a win-win.
